On 24 May 2024, Siruthuli held a meeting in Coimbatore, gathering 150 farmers to discuss water conservation in agriculture as part of their "Thuli Thuliyai Siruthuliyai" campaign.
Coimbatore: In a significant move towards sustainable agriculture, Siruthuli organized a crucial meeting focused on water conservation issues under their 75-day awareness campaign "Thuli Thuliyai Siruthuliyai." The event took place on 24 May 2024 and witnessed participation from 150 local farmers and Farmers' Associations. The gathering aimed to address the pressing challenges of water overuse in farmlands and to share innovative water conservation techniques.
Organized by S U Palaniswamy, President of the Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam, the meeting saw active participation from Siruthuli Apex Members Prabhuram, S J Balakrishnan, Marudhachalam, and Shanthni Balu. The discussions centered on promoting sustainable agricultural practices and the importance of reducing water wastage.

During the session, the farmers took a collective oath to commit to mindful water usage in their agricultural practices. They pledged to adopt techniques that conserve water, minimize wastage, and to enhance rainwater harvesting methods.

Additionally, the attendees requested Siruthuli's assistance in desilting water reservoirs and check dams in their agricultural lands and surrounding areas.
