Two individuals were arrested for entering a house and stealing a mobile phone in Somayampalayam, Coimbatore. The suspects were identified as employees from nearby localities.
Coimbatore: In a recent incident that has rattled the residents of Somayampalayam near Vadavalli, two men were arrested for stealthily entering a house and stealing a mobile phone. The victim, Samsath, a 21-year-old worker from Bihar, was residing in the area while working for a private company.
Samsath had left his mobile phone charging the day before the incident. Seizing the opportunity, the two culprits entered his living space and made away with the device. The shocked Samsath immediately reported the theft at the Vadavalli police station, prompting an investigation.
Following the complaint, police launched a probe that led to the arrest of 19-year-old Sridhar from Goundampalayam and 23-year-old Akash from Idayarpalayam's TVS Nagar. Both individuals are employees of local private firms. They were detained on June 2 and have been presented in court, following which they were remanded in custody.
This incident has heightened concerns among the local community about safety and security, especially regarding home intrusions.
