Three individuals were arrested in Vaiyapuri Nagar, Kovilpalayam for transporting ganja by the local police led by SI Selvanayagam during a vehicle inspection on June 5.
Coimbatore: In an operation tightening the crackdown on illegal narcotics, the Coimbatore police, under the leadership of SI Selvanayagam, conducted a thorough vehicle inspection in Vaiyapuri Nagar, Kovilpalayam on June 5. During the check, a group from Theni, attempting to sell ganja in the area, was intercepted.
The suspects identified as Karthikeyan (19) son of Guru Mohanraj from Ellis Nagar, Madurai, Balasubramani (19) son of Murugan also known as Bala from Anbu Nagar, Madurai, and Vasanth (19) son of Tamilrasan were arrested during the operation.
From them, the police seized 1.5 kilograms of ganja and a two-wheeler. Following the arrest, the trio was presented before the court and subsequently detained at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
