Coimbatore: A man named Raja was allegedly beaten to death last month at KMCH Hospital located on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore, following accusations of involvement in a theft. Hospital administrators and police officers reportedly participated in the beating.

District police from Peelamedu arrested eight individuals, including hospital authorities and police officers, in connection with the incident. Following the outcry over the incident, a demand for a shutdown and a thorough investigation by the Tamil Nadu Health Department was raised by an activist named Raghunath from Race Course, who submitted a petition to the Coimbatore District Health and Family Welfare Office about ten days ago.
