On June 14, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University hosted a blood donation camp in Coimbatore in collaboration with Coimbatore Government Medical College and Singanallur ESI Hospital.
Coimbatore: A significant blood donation camp was organized at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) on June 14, commemorating World Blood Donor Day. The event saw partnerships with Coimbatore Government Medical College and Singanallur ESI Hospital to facilitate the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by TNAU Vice-Chancellor Geethalakshmi. Ravindran, the chief of Singanallur ESI Hospital, led the event, while Dr. Umasarojini and her team from the ESI Blood Bank managed the operations. The drive was successful with approximately 104 donors including students, faculty, non-academic staff, drivers, and laborers participating.

Prior to the start of the camp, around 200 students from TNAU's National Service Scheme (NSS) conducted an awareness rally to emphasize the importance and benefits of blood donation. The rally was initiated by Dr. Maragatham, the head of Student Welfare at the university. Officials and coordinators from the NSS also participated in the rally, disseminating information about the significance of blood donation to the public.
