Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Leader Criticizes NEET as a Means for Corruption and Money-making

During a press meet at Coimbatore Airport, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Leader Selva Perunthagai criticized NEET, accusing it of being a scheme for profit and corruption propagated by BJP's ruling establishments.

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Leader Selva Perunthagai, who arrived in Coimbatore to attend the DMK's grand festival, accused the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) of being primarily a tool for corruption and money-making. Addressing journalists at the Coimbatore Airport, Perunthagai criticized the BJP-led government's management of NEET, claiming it benefits private institutions and undermines the meritocracy of education.

At the event, Perunthagai expressed happiness about the DMK's performance, attributing the victory to the hard work of Chief Minister Stalin and committing to further cooperation within the DMK alliance. He emphasized that the alliance, backed by people's strength, has provided significant success in past elections and will continue to uphold quality governance in Tamil Nadu. "NEET has been misused as a money-making venture by the ruling establishments, sidelining the rural and underprivileged students," Perunthagai remarked.

He also highlighted repeated allegations of irregularities and manipulations in the conduct of NEET, arguing that such practices endanger the future of Tamil Nadu's students. He reiterated the state's opposition to NEET, insisting that it should not be imposed, compromising the wellbeing of Tamil children.
