Panchalinga Waterfall in Udumalai Attracts Tourists on Bakrid

Tourists flocked to Panchalinga Waterfall near Udumalai in Tirupur district on the occasion of Bakrid, following recent rainfall and safety assessments.

Tirupur: The scenic Panchalinga Waterfall, nestled in the forest area near Thirumoorthy Hills close to Udumalai, witnessed a significant influx of tourists on the special occasion of Bakrid. The waterfall, which saw heavy inflows due to recent rains in regions like Kurumalai Kulippatti and Jallimuthan Rock, had previously been off-limits to visitors for swimming due to safety concerns.

Following a period of heavy rainfall that led to increased water levels, authorities had imposed restrictions on swimming in the waterfall for the safety of visitors. However, with the recent decrease in rainfall, the water flow regulated, allowing authorities to lift the bans previously placed. This adjustment permitted visitors to engage in recreational activities at the waterfall once more.

On Bakrid, a large number of visitors took the opportunity to visit and enjoy the calming waters of Panchalinga Waterfall. The site, known for its picturesque setting and as a popular spot for relaxation and family outings, was buzzing with activity as tourists immersed themselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings.

In light of the relaxation of restrictions and favorable weather conditions, the forest department stressed the importance of maintaining safety protocols while enjoying the natural amenities offered by the waterfall and its surrounding areas. The local authorities remain vigilant and continue monitoring the site to ensure visitor safety amid changing weather patterns.
