Coimbatore: In an unusual yet fascinating event, two wild elephants were spotted wandering near the residential areas of Maruthamalai before making their way to the steps of the Maruthamalai Subramaniyaswamy Temple on June 16. The elephants were seen during the time when devotees usually visit the temple, capturing the attention of many.

The sight of these large animals on the temple stairs surprised both devotees and locals alike. After spending some time on the stairs, the elephants eventually left the area. Following the incident, the video capturing this rare encounter started trending on social media the next day, turning it into a viral sensation.

While no property damage or injuries were reported, the visit of these elephants to such a populated part of the city has sparked discussions about wildlife movement in urban areas.
