Relatives of a man who died from injuries after falling from his motorcycle surrounded Palladam Government Hospital, protesting against doctors' claims of suspicious circumstances.
Coimbatore: A tense situation unfolded at the Palladam Government Hospital in Tirupur district after relatives of a local man, Ravi, who died due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident, staged a protest. The incident occurred near Panappalayam on Tirupur road, where Ravi reportedly fell from his vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. Post the incident, doctors at Palladam Government Hospital suggested that the death might involve suspicious circumstances and attempted to transfer the case to Tirupur Government Hospital for further examination. This led to a significant uproar from the deceased's family, who besieged the hospital, opposing the transfer and demanding a local investigation.

Following the protest, Palladam Police Inspector Lenin Appadurai intervened to discuss the matters with the chief physician. He assured that the investigation would proceed properly with the aid of CCTV footage and the necessary autopsies would be conducted at the Palladam hospital itself. Eventually, the crowd dispersed, but not without leaving a mark of the high tensions experienced. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent further incidents.
