Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar Addresses 30 Request Petitions During Grievance Day Meeting in Coimbatore

During the Grievance Day meeting at the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and other officials received 30 request petitions from the public, promising immediate action and site inspections.


Coimbatore: In a significant interaction with the public, Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, along with Corporation Commissioner M. Sivakuru Prabakaran IAS, took part in the Grievance Day meeting held at the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation today, 18th June 2024.



The event was marked by the attendance of several civic officials, including Deputy Commissioner Dr. S. Selvasurabi.



Public members from various parts of Coimbatore submitted 30 request petitions addressing essential issues such as birth and death certificates, road facilities, street lighting, drinking water, sewage systems, professional tax, property tax, vacancy tax, new water connections, and name changes across different municipal zones – 4 petitions from the Eastern zone, 7 from the Western zone, 1 from the Northern zone, and 9 from the Central zone, with 3 petitions submitted directly at the main office.



Acknowledging the issues raised, Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar immediately instructed the concerned ward assistants, engineers, and officials to undertake necessary actions based on the petitions.



Today's engagement also led to an onsite inspection by Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and Commissioner Prabhakaran in parts of Pollachi Main Road under Ward No. 85, Kurichi, and Venkatachalapathy Nagar regarding the construction of a sewage canal, directing swift execution of the construction works.
