The Aadhar Card is India’s Unique Identification Card. But, the image of Aadhar card themed ear-boring ceremony invitation of a 12-year-old boy in Ramanathapuram is going viral and has garnered varying responses.
The boy, Anbumani Muthu, of Ramanathapuram is studying in Class 7. His father S Vijayakumar, who was a document writer by profession, unfortunately died in 2009 after a prolonged illness. Since then, the boy is under the care of his paternal uncle S Rajan (40), that is, his father’s younger brother.
Rajan, an avowed celibate and working as Assistant Manager at Ramanathapuram District Central Cooperative Bank (RDCCB), decided to conduct the fatherless boy Anbumani Muthu’s ear-boring ceremony in a grand manner. Then, the idea of getting the invitation card printed just like the aadhar card struck upon him.
The ear-boring ceremony is slated to be held at home on May 12, 2017. The ceremony will be followed by a dinner at T S Mahal at Kenikkarai in Ramanathapuram on May 14, 2017. The two dates are found printed as 1205 1405 2017 in the place of the 12-digit Aadhar Number.
“ I just wanted to cheer up the fatherless boy by arranging his ear-boring ceremony in grand manner. Then, the idea of getting the invitation card printed just like the Aadhar card struck upon me. As it went viral, I started getting calls both from my well-wishers and some strangers”, Rajan said.
“While my friends and relatives generally appreciated me for the novel idea and approved of my act, some anonymous callers who called up from Chennai abused me for getting the invitation printed on the design of Aadhar card. They even warned me of 'dire consequences' if I do not refrain from doing like this”, Rajan said.
