Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran inspected the infrastructure of schools across various sectors in Coimbatore on 26th June 2024 to oversee their development plans.
Coimbatore: In a major initiative to enhance school infrastructure within the Coimbatore Municipal jurisdiction, Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran conducted inspections on 26th June 2024. The survey covered schools located in eastern, western, northern, southern, and central zones of Coimbatore, amounting to a total of 148 schools.

The inspection began at the municipal girls' higher secondary school and municipal high school in the central zone area of Sundakkamuthur Road, Selvapuram. Here, the Commissioner interacted with students about the curriculum and inspected the sanitation facilities to ensure proper maintenance.

Continuing the inspections, Commissioner Prabhakaran visited the Anjugam Nagar municipal elementary school in the northern zone and Avarampalayam municipal middle school, as part of efforts to review and enhance educational facilities. He also tasted the midday meals provided to students at Anjugam Nagar municipal primary school to check the quality of food being served.

In his follow-up actions, he examined the development works under the Namakku Naame initiative, which involves a budget of Rs. 2 crore at the Moksha Gruha Crematorium arena in Saravanampatti, ward number 10 in the northern zone.

The day concluded with an inspection of the operations of recently procured modern tree-cutting machines intended to manage overgrown branches across roads under municipal maintenance, around Nanjappa Road in the central zone.
