Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Dr. Geethalakshmi, was conferred the honorary Colonel rank on June 27 at the university premises in Coimbatore by the NCC.
Coimbatore: In a remarkable acknowledgment of service and commitment, the Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Dr. Geethalakshmi, was conferred with the honorary Colonel rank during a ceremony held at the university on June 27. The event, organized by the National Cadet Corps (NCC), celebrated Dr. Geethalakshmi’s significant contributions to the NCC activities across the affiliated colleges of the university.
The prestigious rank was presented by Commodore Atul Kumar Rastogi, Deputy Director of NCC, in a ceremony attended by various dignitaries and members of the academic community. Following the ceremony, Dr. Geethalakshmi addressed the media, expressing her joy and honor at receiving this rank for the fourth time as vice chancellor and being the first woman in India to attain such a high honorary title.
