In Theni district, near Peelamedu, lawyer Jagatheeswaran, 28, was arrested for selling ganja on July 1. Police seized 120 grams of marijuana from him.
Coimbatore: A recent incident in Peelamedu has led to the arrest of a young lawyer for his involvement in illicit drug trade. Jagatheeswaran, aged 28, originally from Karumaripuram, Uthamapalayam, Theni district, was nabbed selling ganja. Post completing his law degree, he was practising as a trainee lawyer in Coimbatore.
On July 1, while patrolling Udayampalayam Amman Temple Street in Peelamedu, Inspector Rajkumar and Sub-Inspector Nagarajan of the Peelamedu Police detected and arrested Jagatheeswaran in the act of selling drugs. At the time of his arrest, 120 grams of ganja were recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he was released on bail.
