Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Lauds B.Tech Graduates for GATE-BT Success

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University announces that nine of its B.Tech graduates have successfully passed the GATE-BT 2024, securing opportunities in prestigious biotechnology and related advanced studies.


Coimbatore: In a notable academic achievement, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has announced that nine of its B.Tech students have successfully cleared the Graduate Aptitude Test in Biotechnology (GATE-BT) for the academic year 2024-25. The successful candidates are now eligible for admission to Masters programs with DBT support in Biotechnology.

Organized by the National Test Agency in April 2024, the exam was conducted across 127 cities nationwide on a computer-based format. This enabled a large number of students to partake in the test, aimed at paving the way for further studies and research in biotechnology.

The top scorer among the TNAU students was Yogaraj, who scored 150, followed by T. Architha with 142, S. Ridhanya scoring 133, P. Keerthivasan at 131, and P. Dinesh with a solid 130. Other successful students include X.S. Pabina with 128 marks, S. Ajith scoring 115, A. Arulyazhini with 111.5, and L. Rajaram at 105.5.

These students have not only excelled academically but are also securing spots in prestigious national and international institutions. For instance, five from this group, including Yogaraj and Architha, have obtained positions in the Ocean Technology program at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in Kerala and will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 12000.

The Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, praised the students for their exceptional performance, which reflects well on the university’s commitment to fostering high-quality education and research in the field of biotechnology. The students are also scheduled for their upcoming interviews at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, which is known for its rigorous academic environment. The GATE-BT has always been a pivotal step for B.Tech graduates keen on advancing their studies in biotechnology, offering them numerous opportunities in high-level research and career placements.
