Coimbatore Athlete Olympia Steffi Michael Wins Gold at National Track Event

Olympia Steffi Michael from Edayarpalayam, Coimbatore, clinched gold in the 400m hurdles at a National Track Championship in Haryana, held from 27th to 30th.


Coimbatore: Olympia Steffi Michael, a postgraduate history student at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women on Avinashi Road, recently triumphed at the national-level athletic championship for seniors held in Haryana from June 27 to June 30. Steffi has been passionate about athletics since her childhood, actively participating and winning at school, college, and university-level competitions, as well as at state championships.

During a state-level athletic meet in Chennai earlier in June, Olympia qualified for the national championship, showcasing her dedication and skill in track and field events. Competing against top athletes from across India, Steffi excelled in the 400 meters hurdles event, securing the gold medal. This victory not only highlights her exceptional talents but also brings pride to Coimambique's sports community.
