At this venue, there is one book for everyone for a pocket-friendly cost

If you are avid reader or if you like to read just for the heck of reading, this is a place you must visit. Initially the J J Hall that is located on Race Course Road was taken on lease for a book exhibition and sale by Chennai based Omni Books. Overwhelmed by the response the owner received from this exhibition and sale, he decided to make this place into a permanent place to sell books.

This hall measures 2000 square feet and at any given time, there are more than one lakh books on display and for sale. All the books, we are told are being sold for a discounted price. One of the owners, V. G. Rajan tells us that he has been in the business of selling books for the last two decades. “We are able to sell the books for a discounted rate as we negotiate with the publishers to offer us a discount on unsold copies of books that they have in stock. We source and sell such books for a discount and our customers are happy to purchase such books.” he says.

Currently, at this venue are books for children, books on gardening, science, technology, fiction, non-fiction, gardening, astrology, mythology, parenting among others and there are some books that are sourced from the international market too. Books are sold in various languages too. In a nut-shell, there is one book for everyone at this venue.

Visiting hours on all days between 10 am and 9 pm.
