Coordination Committee Meeting Held for Coimbatore Book Festival 2024

A coordination committee meeting was held on July 5 at the Coimbatore District Collector's office to discuss preparations for the upcoming Coimbatore Book Festival 2024, scheduled from July 19 to 28 at the CODISSIA grounds.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Administration and CODISSIA are jointly organizing the Coimbatore Book Festival 2024, set to take place from July 19 to 28 at the CODISSIA grounds. In preparation for this event, a coordination committee meeting was held on July 5 at the Coimbatore District Collector's office.



The meeting, chaired by District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, focused on discussing the events planned for the 10-day festival and the necessary preparations. Various aspects of the upcoming book festival were deliberated upon during the session.



Key officials and representatives present at the meeting included Additional Collector (Development) Swethasuman IAS, Assistant Collector (Training) Ankit Kumar Jain IAS, District Collector's Personal Assistant M. Kokila, District Library Officer Rajendran, Coimbatore Book Festival Chairman K. Ramesh, CODISSIA President Karthikeyan, Book Festival Vice Chairman Rajesh, and former Coimbatore Book Festival Chairman Vijay Anand. Several other government officials also participated in the meeting.

The organizers noted that last year's book festival attracted over 1.5 lakh visitors. This year, they are anticipating an even higher turnout, expecting to surpass the previous year's attendance figures.

The Coimbatore Book Festival has become a significant cultural event in the city, promoting reading and literary activities. With the collaborative efforts of the district administration and CODISSIA, the upcoming festival aims to provide a enriching experience for book lovers and encourage reading habits among the public.
