Gangster's Brother and Four Others Surrender in BSP Leader Armstrong's Murder Case

Balu, brother of gangster Arcot Suresh, and four others surrendered in connection with BSP leader Armstrong's murder. Police have arrested eight people so far in the revenge killing case. Police sources suspect that this is a retaliation for Arcot Suresh’s murder last year.

Coimbatore: In a significant development in the murder case of Tamil Nadu Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Armstrong, five individuals, including Balu, the brother of notorious gangster Arcot Suresh, have surrendered before the Anna Nagar Deputy Commissioner. This surrender is linked to the brutal attack on Armstrong that took place on July 5th, 2024, near his residence in Sembium, Perumbur.

Additional Commissioner of Police Asra Garg stated that a total of eight people have been arrested in connection with the murder so far. The police are continuing their investigation into the case, which they believe to be a revenge killing stemming from the murder of Arcot Suresh last year.

The chain of events leading to this incident began in August 2023 when Arcot Suresh and his aide Madhavan were attacked by a gang near Pattinampakkam in Chennai. Suresh died in the attack, while Madhavan survived. However, five months later, Madhavan was also killed by another gang.

The attack on Armstrong occurred around 7 pm on July 5th, 2024. A six-member gang ambushed the BSP state president near his house in Sembium, Perumbur. Despite being rushed to a private hospital with critical injuries, Armstrong was declared brought dead on arrival at Apollo Hospital.

The surrender of Arcot Suresh's brother and four others marks a crucial breakthrough in the case. As the investigation progresses, authorities are working to unravel the complex web of gang rivalries and revenge killings that have plagued the region.

The police are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation. The community remains on edge as law enforcement agencies work to bring all those involved in this violent crime to justice.
