Lorry Driver Brutally Murdered on Vadachithur-Chettipalayam Road in Coimbatore

A 32-year-old lorry driver from Sundarapuram was found with his throat slit on Vadachithur-Chettipalayam Road. Police are investigating the brutal murder that occurred on July 5.


Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old lorry driver was brutally murdered on the Vadachithur-Chettipalayam Road in Coimbatore. The victim, identified as Prabhakaran from Sundarapuram, was found with his throat slit inside his vehicle.

According to police reports, on July 5, two unidentified individuals approached Prabhakaran, requesting to hire his lorry. The victim, who owned and operated the vehicle, agreed and left with them.

While traveling on the Vadachithur-Chettipalayam Road, the two suspects allegedly attacked Prabhakaran, slitting his throat before fleeing the scene. The gruesome murder came to light when passersby noticed the lorry parked on the road for an unusually long time. Upon inspection, they were shocked to discover the driver's lifeless body inside the vehicle.

The Negamam Police were immediately alerted about the incident. Upon arrival at the crime scene, law enforcement officials initiated an investigation. They have employed the assistance of sniffer dogs in an attempt to track down the assailants.

The police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation into the murder. They are currently examining possible motives behind the killing and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising concerns about the safety of drivers working late hours. Authorities have urged anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
