Coimbatore District Collector Announces Dates for Book Festival

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati announced the 8th edition of the Book Festival, organized by the district administration and CODISSIA, to be held from July 19 to 28. The event will feature over 250 stalls with lakhs of books.


Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has announced that the 8th edition of the Coimbatore Book Festival will be held from July 19 to 28. The event is jointly organized by the Coimbatore District Administration and CODISSIA.

This year's exhibition will feature over 250 stalls showcasing and selling lakhs of books on various subjects. The 10-day festival will see participation from renowned publishers from different states across India.

Ministers are expected to inaugurate the book festival. The event will be attended by the District Collector, City Police Commissioner, Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, Corporation Commissioner, and representatives of local bodies.

The festival will host daily literary and cultural events featuring prominent literary personalities and artists. These include art and literary programs, special events, poetry sessions, essay competitions, speech contests, plays, and awareness dramas, among various other cultural performances.

Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has instructed relevant department officials to work in coordination to ensure the successful execution of the book festival. He has also appealed to book enthusiasts, students, and the general public to participate in this 10-day book exhibition, which aims to promote reading habits.
