Sai Kishore takes over as new captain of Tiruppur Tamizhans

Sai Kishore appointed as the new captain of Tiruppur Tamizhans cricket team following Vijay Shankar's injury. The team's management expressed confidence in Kishore's leadership for the upcoming matches.

Coimbatore: In a press conference held at a private hotel near Coimbatore Airport, the Tiruppur Tamizhans cricket team announced a significant change in their leadership. Sai Kishore has been appointed as the new captain of the team, replacing the injured Vijay Shankar.

The team owner, Rishikesh, made the announcement in the presence of coach Muralitharan, players Sai Kishore, Natarajan, and Vijay Shankar. Rishikesh explained that due to an injury sustained in the previous match, Vijay Shankar would be unable to play, necessitating the change in captaincy.

Sai Kishore, addressing the media as the new captain, said, "It's an unexpected situation where I have to lead the team due to Vijay's injury. We have experienced players like Natarajan and Vijay Shankar, along with other talented cricketers in the team. We aspire to progress well this season."

Responding to a question about his strategies after taking over the captaincy following two defeats, Kishore stated, "Challenges bring out the best in us. Our team has been playing excellently, but the results haven't been in our favor. It's not about individual effort; if all 11 players act as captains, it will be even easier."

When asked about the reasons for consecutive losses despite having skilled players, Kishore said, "There's a great atmosphere in the team. In crucial situations, maintaining calm will surely lead us to victory."

Regarding playing in Coimbatore, Kishore expressed, "Coimbatore has always been a lucky place for me, whether playing for Tamil Nadu or in TNPL. We expect a good reception here. Coimbatore has excellent pitches, and although conditions may vary, our previous experiences here will be helpful."

Natarajan, speaking to reporters, emphasized the team's unity, stating, "We have many young players in the team. Everyone acts like a family. Even after two losses, the team maintains a positive atmosphere."

Vijay Shankar, addressing his injury, said, "I've injured my shoulder. I definitely can't play the next match. We'll know more about the rest as time progresses."

Coach Muralitharan expressed his expectations, saying, "We've trained the players to quickly adapt to any pitch conditions. I expect 100% contribution from all players."

Responding to a question about Gautam Gambhir's appointment as India's new coach, Vijay Shankar commented, "As a fan, we're looking forward to see what happens next under Gambhir's guidance, given his success with the Kolkata team and India's recent World Cup victory."

On the topic of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's retirement, Shankar remarked, "Once we talked about Tendulkar and Ganguly. Then came another team, and now another will come. This cycle will continue."
