Gold and silver stolen from house near Gandhipuram

A house in P&T Colony near Gandhipuram, Coimbatore was burgled on July 12. Thieves broke open the front door and stole 2.5 sovereigns of gold jewelry and silver items while the family was out.


Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, burglars broke into a house near Gandhipuram and made away with gold and silver valuables. The theft occurred on July 12 when the house owners were away.

Ramesh (55), a resident of P&T Colony near Gandhipuram, works as a supervisor at a textile shop in Mettupalayam. On the morning of July 12, Ramesh locked his house and left with his family members.

When they returned home in the afternoon, they found the front door of the house broken open. Upon entering, they discovered that 2.5 sovereigns of gold jewelry and several silver items stored in the cupboard had been stolen.

Ramesh immediately filed a complaint with the Saravanampatti Police Station. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

The police are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and questioning neighbors to gather information about any suspicious activities or persons seen in the vicinity during the time of the burglary.

This incident has raised concerns about security in the area, and residents are advised to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to safeguard their valuables.
