Coimbatore: The Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu conducted a field operation at Kunnathur Lake in Kattampatti (Kadathur) on July 14, focusing on restoration and improvement works. The initiative, part of the second phase of lake rejuvenation efforts, saw active participation from volunteers and committee members.

One of the primary tasks involved repairing a damaged pipe in the Miyawaki dense forest area, which was established with financial support from Zahoransky Moulds & Machines Pvt Ltd. Simultaneously, the team engaged in constructing embankments using soil obtained from the ongoing desilting work.

This desilting project is being carried out with CSR funding from Sri Bannari Amman Sugars and Siva Distilleries.

As part of the day's activities, the team also undertook the relocation of water tanks that had been previously placed along the lake's periphery.

These operations were carried out by members of the Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu and volunteers from 9 AM to 12 PM on July 14.
This collaborative effort demonstrates the ongoing commitment to preserving and enhancing Coimbatore's water bodies, combining corporate social responsibility initiatives with community involvement for sustainable lake management.
