Water Warriors Conduct Maintenance Work at Perur Periyakulam Forest in Coimbatore

Volunteers from Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu conducted maintenance work at Perur Periyakulam Water Warrior dense forest on July 14, 2024. The event included environmental awareness activities for participants.


Coimbatore: The Water Warrior dense forest area near Perur Periyakulam in Coimbatore witnessed a flurry of activity on Sunday morning (July 14, 2024) as volunteers from the Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu engaged in maintenance work from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM.



The volunteers participated in various forest maintenance activities, focusing on preserving the ecosystem of the dense forest area surrounding Perur Periyakulam. Their efforts aimed to maintain the ecological balance and protect the water body.



Following the maintenance work, the participants engaged in an innovative awareness activity.



They played a specially designed "Parampadam" (Snakes and Ladders) game that highlighted the importance of water conservation and the problems arising from water wastage and pollution. This educational game served as an interactive tool to impart knowledge about environmental issues.

These types of environmental awareness games have been gaining popularity among people of all age groups, from children to adults. The initiative combines education with entertainment, making it an effective method to spread awareness about water conservation and environmental protection.

The event at Perur Periyakulam Water Warrior dense forest exemplifies the ongoing efforts by local environmental groups to engage the community in preserving Coimbatore's natural resources, particularly its water bodies.
