Residents of Coimbatore apartment complex allege police inaction against violent neighbor

CCTV footage shows a man attacking residents and workers in a private apartment complex in Coimbatore. Residents claim police refuse to take action despite complaints.

Coimbatore: Residents of a private apartment complex in Coimbatore are living in fear as CCTV footage has emerged showing a man attacking both residents and workers. The incident has sparked outrage among the community, with residents accusing the police of failing to take action despite multiple complaints.

The apartment complex, located in Poochiyur near Thondamuthur in Coimbatore, is home to hundreds of families. According to residents, a man named Sankar, who lives alone in the complex after his wife and children left him, has been terrorizing and assaulting residents for the past four months.

Recently released CCTV footage shows Sankar attacking a female domestic worker and a security guard in the apartment complex. Residents claim that despite filing complaints with the local police station based on this evidence, no action has been taken against Sankar.

Residents have expressed their distress over the situation, stating that Sankar appears to be mentally unstable. They report that he has been breaking glass and throwing needles, causing fear among the residents. The situation has escalated to the point where some residents feel trapped in their homes, unable to leave due to Sankar's aggressive behavior of banging on doors.

The apartment community is now calling for immediate police intervention to ensure their safety and put an end to the ongoing harassment. They emphasize the urgent need for authorities to address the situation before it potentially escalates into a more serious incident.
