Former Students Association Organizes Art and Literary Competitions at Amaravathi Nagar Sainik School

Over 100 students from various schools participated in art and literary competitions organized by the Former Students Association at Amaravathi Nagar Sainik School near Udumalpet, Tiruppur district.


Coimbatore: The Former Students Association of Sainik School in Amaravathi Nagar, near Udumalpet in Tiruppur district, organized a series of art and literary competitions called 'Prajana' today. The event saw participation from over 100 students from various schools including Chennai, Madurai, Tiruppur, Kallakurichi, Amaravathi Nagar Sainik School, and Udumalpet Government Model School.

The competitions included a wide range of events such as speech contests, essay writing, photography, painting, and short film making. Students showcased their talents across these diverse categories, with winners receiving certificates, cups, and medals for their achievements.



Notably, students from Udumalpet Government Model School clinched the first prize in the short film category. The Amaravathi Nagar Sainik School students dominated the event, winning numerous prizes across various categories.

Captain Navy Manikandan, Principal of Amaravathi Nagar Sainik School, along with former student association executives, presented the awards to the winning students. The special guest for the event, Mr. Somasundaram, former Social Science teacher at Amaravathi Nagar Sainik School, addressed the gathering. He emphasized the importance of current students upholding the prestige of the Sainik School and encouraged them to read more books to enhance their knowledge.

The event was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Dipu, Administrative Officer of Amaravathi Nagar Sainik School, teachers, and former student association executives including Major General Babu, Kannan, Balasubramaniam, and Vijayakumar, the president of the former students' association.
