Coimbatore: The Central government has allocated a substantial sum of ₹639.18 crore for a major road expansion project in Coimbatore. This funding is earmarked for land acquisition and the widening of the Sathyamangalam road into a four and six-lane thoroughfare, stretching from Kurumbapalayam to the Karnataka border.
The ambitious project involves the acquisition of 291.4 hectares of land across 31 villages. To facilitate this process, dedicated land acquisition cells will be established, and efforts will be made to expedite the acquisition procedures.
On Tuesday, Coimbatore MP Ganapathi P. Rajkumar conducted a meeting and inspection of several road projects in the city. He was accompanied by Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati and Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran during the inspection of some of these areas.
