Construction of Stormwater Drains Begins in Coimbatore's Ward 40

Construction of stormwater drains commenced in Ward 40 of Coimbatore's West Zone on July 22. The project covers Maniyakkarar Street, Oorgounder Street, and Thevar Street areas.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has initiated the construction of stormwater drains in Ward 40 of the West Zone. The project, which began on July 22, covers key areas including Maniyakkarar Street, Oorgounder Street, and Thevar Street.



The inaugural ceremony was led by Ward Councillor Padmavathi Ravichandran and West Zone Chairperson Deivayani Tamilmarai. The event saw the participation of party members and local residents, marking a significant step towards improving the city's drainage infrastructure.

This initiative is part of the Corporation's efforts to enhance the city's preparedness for monsoon seasons and prevent waterlogging in residential areas. The construction of these drains is expected to significantly improve water management in Ward 40, potentially reducing the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall.
