NGO initiates effort to make Coonoor a litter-free place.

'Whilst most of us preach; not to litter the streets, keep our country clean; our garbage strewn nation begs for action to be taken.'

For the past few weeks, Clean Coonoor, a NGO, has been making an attempt at cleaning the dams of Coonoor. The Rallaih dam is now relatively cleaner, after a clean up drive was held here. This effort was greatly appreciated by the residents and tourists of the region.

The organization has also put up garbage bags for the disposal of trash at all major tourist spots like the Sims Park along with other dams and water falls. This was a joint endeavor lead by, Samantha, founder of Clean Coonoor; Parameshwaran, head of the trade union association and other volunteers of the organization
