Coimbatore Police Officers and Constables Undergo Firearms Training at Police Training School Ground

Coimbatore City Police officers participated in a 9mm pistol shooting training at the Rifle Club. The exercise, involving 71 officers from Assistant Commissioner to Sub-Inspector ranks, aimed to enhance firearms proficiency.



Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police conducted a comprehensive firearms training program for its officers, focusing on 9mm pistol shooting skills. The training took place at the Coimbatore Rifle Club, following the directives of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan.



The training session saw the participation of 71 police personnel, including 9 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 22 Inspectors, and 40 Sub-Inspectors (SIs).



This initiative was part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the firearms proficiency of the city's law enforcement officers.



Prior to the live-fire exercise, the participants underwent several days of preparatory training. This preliminary phase covered crucial aspects of firearms handling, including stripping and assembling the weapon, loading and unloading procedures, target practice, cleaning and maintenance techniques, and safety protocols. This comprehensive approach ensured that all officers were well-versed in the fundamental aspects of firearm operation before engaging in live-fire training.
