Christian priests from Nallayan Gurukul School visited Masjid-Al-Ihsan in Coimbatore on July 26, 2024, to learn about Islam as part of their interfaith understanding program.
Coimbatore: Christian priests who have trained at Nallayan Gurukul School in Coimbatore and are now serving across the country visited various places of worship in the city to gain knowledge about different religious beliefs.
As part of this initiative, they visited Masjid-Al-Ihsan on July 26, 2024, after the Asar prayers.
The event began with a keynote address by Janab Umar Farooq, the leader of Jamaat Coimbatore Metropolitan. This was followed by an introductory speech by Maulavi Riyazudeen Azhari, the Imam of Huda Mosque.
During the visit, the priests asked various questions about Islam to gain clarity. Maulavi Muhammad Ismail Imdadi, the chief Imam of Masjid-ul-Ihsan, provided answers to their queries.
The event was also attended by Janab Sabir Ali, Secretary of Jamaat Coimbatore Metropolitan, and Janab Abdul Hakeem, Public Relations Secretary. Amire Mahamigal Janab Peer Muhammad and Janab Muhammad Basheer also participated in the discussions.
Several members and workers of the Jamaat were present at the event, contributing to the interfaith dialogue and understanding.
This visit by Christian priests to Masjid-ul-Ihsan marks a significant step towards promoting religious harmony and mutual understanding between different faith communities in Coimbatore.
