GKNM Hospital in Coimbatore has been accredited as an Advanced Stroke Centre by the Quality and Accreditation Institute (QAI). This achievement marks it as the 14th accredited facility in India and the first in Coimbatore.



Coimbatore: GKNM Hospital has received the prestigious Quality and Accreditation Institute (QAI) Stroke Accreditation as an Advanced Stroke Centre. This recognition positions the hospital as the 14th accredited facility in India, the second in Tamil Nadu, and the first in Coimbatore, highlighting its commitment to providing exceptional stroke care.



The Advanced Stroke Centre at GKNM Hospital offers round-the-clock comprehensive care for all types of stroke patients, including those with hemorrhagic strokes. The centre is designed to prioritize stroke patients, ensuring immediate attention for both imaging tests and treatments, aiming to significantly improve patient outcomes.

Key achievements of the centre include major reductions in door-to-thrombolysis and door-to-thrombectomy times, adoption of advanced protocols, formation of rapid response teams, and involvement of multidisciplinary teams from various departments. The hospital also focuses on regular monitoring and enhancement of stroke care practices, along with initiatives to educate the community about stroke prevention and early detection.
