The protesters raised slogans against the Union government for ignoring Tamil Nadu, which is one of the highest tax-paying states in the country.

The demonstrators expressed their dissatisfaction with the rejection of demands from Coimbatore's industrial sector and the refusal to allocate funds for the Coimbatore Metro Rail project. They also criticized the Modi government for failing to address issues such as rising prices and unemployment.
