Woman's 3 Sovereign Gold Chain Snatched on GKS Road in Coimbatore

A 57-year-old woman was robbed of her 3-sovereign gold chain while walking on GKS Road in Coimbatore. The incident occurred on July 27 when two men on a bike snatched her chain and fled the scene.


Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a 57-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain in broad daylight on GKS Road in Coimbatore. The victim, Punithavathi, a resident of Sathy Road in Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, was returning home from work when the incident occurred.

On July 27, Punithavathi was walking along GKS Road after finishing her domestic work. Two unidentified men on a motorcycle followed her and suddenly snatched her 3-sovereign gold chain from her neck before speeding away.

Stunned by the brazen theft, Punithavathi immediately reported the incident to the Saravanampatti Police Station. Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to apprehend the chain-snatching culprits.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of pedestrians, especially women, in the area. Local residents have urged the police to increase patrols and surveillance to prevent such crimes in the future.

The Saravanampatti police are currently investigating the case, examining CCTV footage from the area, and gathering information from potential witnesses to identify and arrest the suspects involved in this chain-snatching incident.
