Two Youth Killed in Tragic Lorry Collision in Pollachi

In Pollachi, two young men on a two-wheeler were crushed to death on the spot when a lorry collided with their vehicle on the Udumalpet National Highway near Minnagar area.


Coimbatore: A tragic accident on the Udumalpet National Highway in Pollachi claimed the lives of two young men when a lorry collided with their two-wheeler. The incident occurred near the Minnagar area, where a government bus had stopped to drop off passengers.

As the bus was stationary, two youth on a two-wheeler attempted to overtake it. Suddenly, a lorry coming from behind collided with the two-wheeler. The impact caused the riders to lose balance and fall onto the road. In a horrific turn of events, the lorry's wheels ran over both individuals, crushing them to death on the spot.



Initially, the victims' identities were unrecognizable due to the severity of the accident. The East Police Station officers began their investigation using the two-wheeler's registration details. It was later revealed that the deceased were Kavi Prakash (20) and Jaya Prakash (24), both residents of Poosaripatti near Pollachi. The two young men were employees at a private finance company and were returning home from work when the accident occurred.

The police have arrested the lorry driver responsible for the accident. The East Police Station is conducting further investigations into the incident, examining the circumstances that led to this tragic loss of life.

This unfortunate event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for vigilance while driving, especially on busy highways.
