MLA Vanathi Srinivasan attended an environmental awareness seminar at Avinashilingam Women's College in Coimbatore on July 29, highlighting the importance of reducing carbon footprint through simple actions like turning off cellphones.

Coimbatore: Vanathi Srinivasan, MLA of Coimbatore South constituency and National President of BJP Women's Wing, attended an environmental awareness seminar at Avinashilingam Women's College in Coimbatore on July 29. During the event, over a thousand participants turned off their cellphones to raise awareness about controlling pollution from mobile phone usage.

In her special address, Vanathi Srinivasan emphasized the importance of reducing environmental pollution. She mentioned that the central government, under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, has implemented various schemes to promote solar power generation through agreements with other countries. She also stressed the need to plant more trees for a pollution-free environment and expressed her readiness to use her MLA constituency development funds for this purpose.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Vanathi Srinivasan highlighted Prime Minister Modi's directive to provide solar power schemes to 1 crore households. She also addressed various local issues, including plastic elimination, fire department expenses, and municipal administration problems.

The MLA criticized the sudden passage of 333 resolutions in a single day by the municipal administration, questioning the necessity and transparency of such actions. She emphasized the need to communicate municipal activities effectively to the public.

Vanathi Srinivasan also commented on the law and order situation during the DMK's rule, stating that people are aware of the deteriorating conditions. She questioned the state government's measures to prevent murders, arguing that merely transferring officials is not an effective solution.

Regarding economic matters, she noted that Tamil Nadu benefits significantly from the budget allocation for small and micro enterprises. She also mentioned upcoming infrastructure development projects while criticizing the DMK for increasing taxes across all sectors.

The MLA expressed her happiness about the meeting between Seeman and Annamalai, stating that opposition parties are not enemies and such courteous interactions are welcome. She questioned the scrutiny faced by the BJP State President for his actions and commented on actor Vijay's political aspirations, saying, "Let him first hold a conference, then we'll see. Conferences are indeed important in politics."
