Coimbatore: The CSW Foundation, in collaboration with the District Tobacco Control Cell, launched the "Paruvaetha Paiyar Seivuom 2.0" Tobacco-Free Schools Awareness Program at Corporation High School, Anuparapalyam, Coimbatore on July 29, 2024.
The inauguration event was attended by several dignitaries including Sivakumar, Deputy Commissioner of Coimbatore Corporation; Malathi, Education Chairman; Meena, Central Zone Chairman; Dr. Saranya Devi, District Tobacco Control Cell Consultant; Murali Krishna, Social Worker; Thoufiq, Psychologist; and Harish Kumar, CSW Foundation Secretary. The school headmaster and faculty members were also present to support the initiative.
The "Paruvaetha Paiyar Seivuom 2.0" program is designed to educate students about the hazards of tobacco use and promote a healthier school environment by encouraging tobacco-free habits.
