CM Stalin to Launch 'Tamil Pudhalvan' Scheme in Coimbatore on August 9

Chief Minister M K Stalin will launch the 'Tamil Pudhalvan' scheme in Coimbatore on August 9, providing Rs 1,000 monthly to male college students from government schools, expanding educational support initiatives in Tamil Nadu.

Coimbatore: Chief Minister M K Stalin announced on Wednesday that he will launch the 'Tamil Pudhalvan' scheme in Coimbatore on August 9. This new initiative aims to provide Rs 1,000 per month to male college students who have studied in government schools.

Speaking at a function in his Kolathur constituency, Stalin emphasized the importance of education, stating, "None can steal your education from you. I have been saying this to you for a long time." He highlighted the Tamil Nadu government's commitment to educational support through various schemes.

The Chief Minister drew parallels between the new 'Tamil Pudhalvan' scheme and the existing 'Pudhumai Penn' scheme, which provides Rs 1,000 to female students from government schools pursuing higher education. Stalin noted that 2.73 lakh students are currently benefiting from the 'Pudhumai Penn' scheme.

During the event, Stalin also announced several development projects for his Kolathur constituency. These include the establishment of a taluk office, a police commissionerate, a police station, a fire station, and a sub-registrar office. The Chief Minister assured that these projects would be implemented soon, further enhancing the infrastructure and services in the area.

The launch of the 'Tamil Pudhalvan' scheme in Coimbatore underscores the government's focus on expanding educational opportunities and support for students across Tamil Nadu, particularly those from government schools.
