Pollachi Municipal Council Passes 89 Resolutions in Ordinary Meeting

Pollachi Municipal Council's July ordinary meeting, chaired by Chairperson Shyamala Navaneethakrishnan, saw unanimous approval of 89 resolutions. Councillors raised concerns about vacant shop auctions, street light maintenance, and sewage blockages.


Coimbatore: The Pollachi Municipal Council convened its ordinary meeting for July today at the municipal meeting hall.



The session was presided over by Municipal Chairperson Shyamala Navaneethakrishnan, with Commissioner Senthilkumaran in attendance. A total of 36 councillors from DMK, MDMK, and AIADMK parties participated in the meeting.



The assembly unanimously passed 89 resolutions during the session. Prior to this, councillors voiced their concerns on several issues. They accused the municipal officials of delaying the auction process for vacant shops in the municipal area. Additionally, they pointed out the inadequate maintenance of street lights and the occurrence of sewage blockages leading to overflowing sewage water.



Responding to these concerns, Municipal Chairperson Shyamala Navaneethakrishnan assured that steps are being taken to auction the vacant shops. She also promised that measures would be implemented to ensure proper maintenance of street lights. The meeting was attended by various municipal officials and other participants.
