Kerala-bound trains rerouted via Podanur-Irugur due to maintenance work

Salem Railway Division announces temporary rerouting of Kerala-bound trains via Podanur-Irugur on August 1 due to track maintenance work. Coimbatore Junction will be skipped.

Coimbatore: The Salem Railway Division has announced a temporary change in the route of Kerala-bound trains due to scheduled track maintenance work. According to the official statement, trains will be diverted via Podanur-Irugur, bypassing Coimbatore Junction on Thursday, August 1.

The affected trains include the Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express (Train No. 13352) and the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Express (Train No. 12678). These trains will be rerouted through the alternative path of Podanur-Irugur on the specified date.

As a result of this diversion, these trains will not stop at Coimbatore Junction. Passengers are advised to take note of this temporary change in the schedule. The railway authorities have also informed that Podanur will serve as a temporary stoppage for these trains during this period.

This rerouting is necessary to facilitate essential engineering maintenance work on the tracks within the Salem Railway Division. The authorities have requested passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and apologize for any inconvenience caused due to this temporary arrangement.

Regular commuters and those planning to board or alight at Coimbatore Junction on August 1 are urged to make alternative arrangements or check for updated information from the railway authorities. The normal route is expected to resume once the maintenance work is completed.
