Coimbatore: In observance of Mangrove Forest Conservation Day, sixth-grade students from K'sirs International School in Chinnvedampatti, Coimbatore district, joined forces with Arulagam and the Mangrove Forest Protection Committee to conduct awareness activities at Rameshwaram and Kunthukal beach areas.

The students actively participated in various initiatives aimed at protecting marine life and promoting the conservation of mangrove forests. As part of their efforts, the K'sirs school children cleaned up the litter scattered along Kunthukal beach, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a clean coastal environment.

In addition to the cleanup drive, the students took a significant step towards increasing mangrove cover by planting mangrove saplings along the coastal areas. This action not only contributes to the expansion of mangrove forests but also helps in protecting the coastline from erosion and providing habitat for various marine species.

The children's dedication and enthusiasm in participating in these conservation activities touched the hearts of onlookers. Their actions serve as an inspiring example of how young people can contribute to environmental protection and raise awareness about the importance of preserving mangrove ecosystems.

This initiative by the school children highlights the critical role of education in fostering environmental consciousness among the younger generation. By engaging in hands-on conservation activities, these students are not only learning about the importance of mangrove forests but also actively contributing to their preservation.
