Congress Protests in Coimbatore Against Minister's Remarks on Rahul Gandhi

Congress party members in Coimbatore staged a protest against Union Minister Anurag Thakur's alleged derogatory remarks about opposition leader Rahul Gandhi in Parliament, demanding Prime Minister Modi's condemnation.


Coimbatore: Members of the Congress party in Coimbatore district staged a protest on Wednesday against the ruling BJP government at the Centre, condemning Union Minister Anurag Thakur's alleged derogatory remarks about opposition leader Rahul Gandhi during a Lok Sabha session.



Over 50 Congress party workers gathered in front of the BSNL office in Coimbatore, carrying banners and raising slogans against the BJP government.



The protesters expressed their anger over the minister's comments and criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not condemning the remarks made against Rahul Gandhi.



The demonstrators also raised slogans against Prime Minister Modi, accusing him of failing to reprimand the minister for his inappropriate comments. Additionally, the Congress members demanded a caste census, emphasizing the need for accurate data on the country's demographic composition.

The protest highlighted the growing tension between the opposition and the ruling party, with the Congress accusing the BJP of disrespecting democratic norms and engaging in personal attacks against opposition leaders.
