'Book Reading has civilized humans' said Mannin Maindhan Muttaiah at World Book day Celebrations by CBF and 'The Hindu'

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Today is a day of celebration of authors, illustrators, books and overall a celebration of reading, as this day, April 23rd, marks the World Book Day.

The Hindu Group of Publication along with Coimbatore Book Foundation observed the World Book Day at their Office, this morning. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) S. Saravanan was the Guest of Honor for the event. He motivated the kids to broaden their habit of book reading and also distributed prizes to the kids and participants who were dressed like eminent tamil scholars like Bharathiyar and Agathiyar.

A flash sale will take place today, at the Hindu Office on Avinashi Road, were books published under ;The Hindu Publication', will be sold at a flat 50% discount from 10 am to 6 pm. The books can also be purchased online by visiting www.thehindugroup.in/subscribe/

Speaking at the event, one of the Chief Guest, Marabin Maindhan Muttaiah, a Noted Writer and Motivational Speaker spoke on the importance of reading books and how reading has transformed us to civilized human beings.

'We emerged as a civilized being only after the habit of reading sprouted. It was through books humans new about the rest of the World, Culture, people and everything. But unfortunately, the habit of book reading has almost diminished among today's younger generation. Parents presume that reading books are outdated hence their kids would not prefer reading books. Parents stop presuming...instead buy books of your kid's interest and motivate them to read books.

Whenever you buy a new book, along with the book you take home an unparalleled knowledge of an expert or a personality'.
