Bringing together over 40 Global Capability Centres and prospective investors, CII Coimbatore’s inaugural GCC Leaders Circle focused on talent, infrastructure and policy priorities to position the city as a preferred GCC destination, driving knowledge-led investments and high-value employment opportunities.
Coimbatore: In a significant step towards positioning Coimbatore as a leading destination for knowledge-driven investments, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Coimbatore Zone, convened the inaugural edition of the GCC Leaders Circle Meeting, bringing together more than 40 Global Capability Centres (GCCs) operating in the city, along with organisations exploring the establishment of GCC operations in the region.
The strategic gathering was organised under the Coimbatore NXT initiative, through which CII Coimbatore has constituted a dedicated GCC Taskforce to strengthen the city's value proposition as an emerging hub for Global Capability Centres and future-ready enterprises.

Welcoming the participants, Mahalingam Ramasamy, Vice Chairman, CII Coimbatore Zone, underscored the need for a collaborative platform that empowers GCC leaders to collectively shape the next phase of Coimbatore's growth story. He noted that sustained industry participation and multi-stakeholder collaboration would be instrumental in building an enabling ecosystem capable of attracting fresh investments while supporting the expansion of existing GCC operations.
Sharing the larger vision behind the initiative, Arjun Prakash, Past Chairman, CII Coimbatore, and S. Srikumaravelu of the Coimbatore NXT Committee, highlighted that Coimbatore NXT was conceived with the long-term objective of preparing the city for future industries and generating high-value employment opportunities for the next generation. They stressed the importance of proactively positioning Coimbatore as a preferred destination in India's rapidly expanding GCC landscape.
Providing an overview of the city's evolving GCC ecosystem, Satya Dhulipala, Co-Convenor of the GCC Taskforce, CII Coimbatore Zone, unveiled the Taskforce's three-year roadmap aimed at elevating Coimbatore's standing in the national GCC ecosystem.
The roadmap focuses on key pillars including talent development, ecosystem building, industry-academia partnerships, policy advocacy, investment promotion and the creation of a structured forum for GCC leaders to contribute to Coimbatore's growth trajectory.
The meeting also featured an engaging exchange of ideas among GCC leaders, who deliberated on factors enhancing Coimbatore's attractiveness for GCC investments, emerging opportunities for expansion and the challenges that need to be addressed to strengthen the city's competitive edge.

Discussions centred on critical enablers such as talent availability, skilling initiatives, infrastructure readiness, ecosystem maturity and policy support, all of which were identified as essential to accelerating the growth of the GCC sector in the region.
With the launch of the GCC Leaders Circle, CII Coimbatore has signalled its intent to foster a cohesive industry-led platform capable of transforming Coimbatore into one of India's most sought-after destinations for Global Capability Centres.
