Tirupur: The Amanalingeshwarar Temple, situated in Thirumurthi Hills near Udumalpet in Tirupur district, conducted its periodic hundi counting on Wednesday. The temple, known for its unique feature of housing the Trinity - Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva - atop a hill, attracts numerous devotees daily, especially on auspicious days.

Devotees visiting the temple offer money in the hundis (donation boxes) as part of their vows or as general offerings to the deities. On Wednesday, the temple administration opened 13 hundis, including the Goshala (cow shelter) hundi, for counting.

The counting revealed that the 12 main hundis collected a total of Rs. 3,26,981, comprising Rs. 2,99,360 in currency notes and Rs. 27,621 in coins. The Goshala hundi separately collected Rs. 1,422, bringing the grand total to Rs. 3,28,403.

It's noteworthy that the previous hundi counting was conducted on June 12. The counting process was overseen by various officials including Ravi, the chairman of the temple's board of trustees, board members Rajabalan, Radhakrishnan, Bhanureka, and Devaraj. Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department Inspector Saravanakumar, Temple Executive Officer Amarnathan, and other staff members were also present during the counting.

The significant collection underscores the temple's popularity among devotees who visit not only for darshan of the Trinity but also to enjoy the Panchalinga waterfalls in the temple premises.
