ICCI, Coimbatore Chapter extends support to farmers' plight.

Vanitha Mohan, President of ICCI, Coimbatore Chapter through a press release has stated that ICCI will continue to extend their support for the cause of the farmers and are hopeful that soon an amicable solution will be derived.
The press statement also reads that, 'ICCI has welcomed the decision of Tamil Nadu farmers who have called off their 41-day-long strike on account of the assurances of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, K Palaniswami, who met them at New Delhi and promised that he would meet the Hon'ble Prime Minister and discuss the problems of farmers and their plight.

ICCI also appreciates the efforts of the opposition parties to call for a total bandh in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday 25th April 2017 to express their solidarity with the farmers agitating in New Delhi.

The farming community is the backbone of our Indian economy, hence it is imperative to improve the quality of life of the farming community. Both the Governments - Centre and State should initiate steps to fulfil their legitimate demands and ensure their welfare and livelihood'.
