Power Outage Announced for Irugur and Somayampalayam Areas Tomorrow

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced a scheduled power cut in several areas under Irugur and Somayampalayam substations on August 9th due to monthly maintenance work.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has issued a notice today regarding a planned power outage in various parts of Coimbatore district tomorrow, August 9th. The power cut is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM to facilitate monthly maintenance work at two substations: Irugur and Somayampalayam.

Irugur Substation Maintenance:

The areas affected by the maintenance work at Irugur substation include:

1. Irugur

2. Ondiputhur

3. Ottarpalayam

4. SIHS Colony

5. Pallapalayam (partial area)

6. Kannampalayam (partial area)

7. Chinniyampalayam

8. Venkitapuram

9. Thottipalayam

10. Goldwins

Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to plan accordingly for the 8-hour power interruption.

Somayampalayam Substation Maintenance:

Simultaneously, maintenance work will be carried out at the Somayampalayam substation, affecting power supply to the following areas:

1. Somayampalayam

2. Yamuna Nagar

3. Kalapanaickenpalayam

4. GCT Nagar

5. Kanuvai

6. KNG Pudur

7. Thadagam Road

8. Cheran Industries area

9. Vidya Colony

10. Saaj Garden

11. VMT Nagar

12. Asiriyar Colony

13. Nametha Colony

The TNEB has emphasized that these maintenance works are part of their regular upkeep schedule to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution network. Such preventive maintenance is crucial in minimizing unexpected outages and improving overall service quality.
