Coimbatore: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Coimbatore unit celebrated the 77th Independence Day by paying homage to Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar.

The event, organized as per the national and state district guidelines of the party, took place on the 80 Feet Road in Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore.

Party members garlanded the portrait of Deivathiru Maganar Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar as a mark of respect.

Following this, sweets were distributed to the public, commemorating the sacrifices of freedom fighters and celebrating the spirit of independence.

The event saw the participation of several key BJP functionaries. RT Murali, the in-charge of Coimbatore South and a district executive committee member, was present at the celebration. Sivakumar, the zonal leader, also attended the function. Various state district, zonal, and branch executives of the party were part of the gathering.
