World Peace Day celebrated at Aliyar Arivu Thirukoyil near Pollachi, marking Vethathiri Maharishi's 114th birth anniversary. Tamil Aruvi Maniyan emphasized Maharishi's vision for global peace through UN participation.
Coimbatore: The 114th birth anniversary of Vethathiri Maharishi, founder of Aliyar Arivu Thirukoyil and World Community Service Association, was celebrated as World Peace Day at Aliyar Arivu Thirukoyil near Pollachi.
The event, presided over by Aliyar Arivu Thirukoyil President Balasubramaniam, featured S.K.M. Maeilanandham, President of the World Community Service Association, delivering the welcome address.
Tamil Aruvi Maniyan, attending as a special guest, spoke on the topic "Mental Science for Peace" in the presence of former CBI Director Karthikeyan. Maniyan emphasized that young people should learn about Vethathiri Maharishi and highlighted the Maharishi's wish for all countries to be included in the UN to maintain world peace. He stated that war should be declared illegal in the country, and a democratic legislative assembly should be established for this purpose, comprising intellectuals, thinkers, and experts.
Earlier, former CBI Director Karthikeyan released a Gujarati-translated book on simple methods of practicing yoga.
The World Peace Day celebration saw participation from thousands of people from various districts across Tamil Nadu.
